I Tried.

I tried to sit down

And write for you

but the word's just wouldn't come.

They stayed in my throat

and wouldn't let go

and in my eyes, they stung.

I tried to spill my feelings

but they wouldn't leave my heart.

I guess it's because my emotions know

it's the only place you are.

I like the theme. The last 2 lines seem to break the rhythm, but when I tried to put them to music it came along just fine.

In your second line did you mean "to" you instead of "for" you?

Thank you. A lot of times, I find patterns in my writing, a fluidity of sorts. I tend to latch onto a style and continue with it for a while. And to answer your question no, I did not mean "to". The last person I wrote a letter to was my great-grandmother. I chose the word "for" because I write songs, poems, and prose for people, many of which the person intended never see. I've even written letters for people. It's a venting tool that I like to utilize.
