Psilocybin Dreams

Just some random musings on an early organic high....

Psilocybin Dreams

Chasin rainbows in the night

Wingless birds that take to flight

Endless palettes of spectral light

Stringless kites soaring out of sight

Tangerine tints wash over the moon

Neon streams gushing thru my room

Gotta endless grin but I won't panic

Just a harmless shroom certified organic

I often wonder about the ancient man

Holding unseen magic in the palm of his hand

Did nature's garden offer up from the land

A little gift for a diet too bland

Maybe an impulse he couldn't question why

Made him pluck that thing from a cattle's pie

Mystic vision's that he'd never seen

Floating in a world of Psilocybin Dreams

These days I treat my mind like a temple

Not messin much with the experimental

The vivid colors I used to see

Now splashed on a screen with LED

Not really blaming technology

Some things we come by naturally

But when I tire of life's extremes

I'm off to the world of Psilocybin Dreams

I often wonder about the ancient man

Holdin unseen magic in the palm of his hand

Did nature's garden offer up from the land

A little gift for a diet too bland

Maybe an impulse he couldn't question why

Made him pluck that thing from a cattle's pie

Mystic vision's that he'd never seen

Floating in a world of Psilocybin Dreams

At times a mind that's born to wander

Solves mysteries not seldom pondered

That first egg layed from a labored hen

Someone ate it knowin where it'd been

But...

I often wonder about the ancient man

Holdin unseen magic in the palm of his hand

Did nature's garden offer up from the land

A little gift for a diet too bland

Maybe an impulse he couldn't question why

Made him pluck that thing from a cattle's pie

Mystic vision's that he'd never seen

Floating in a world of Psilocybin Dreams

Perhaps my favorite stanza in this poem. Makes a great statement. The poem overall is awesome. No complaints here. Keep writing!

Reminds me of a night when my body went to sleep, but my mind remained awake and I gazed at the green and purple carvings of inward Mayan temples.  True story.  But I can no longer separate the drug experience from wars and soldiers, cops and guns, lost lives and hopes confused.  Probably just gettng old!
