Every Heart Has A Pain

Doesn't matter if he died in vain

he did had something to say

you don't feel that pain

because you haven't left the price to pay

Just at a gander

he was in your sights

but then you saw him climbing the ladder

falling down the percipice

Every moment he waited and waited

but you didn't say goodbye

the day we hated and hated

but it was time to die

Every heart has a pain

was it necessary to die in vain

Every heart has a pain

and now its cracking my brain

Just listening to james taylor

like the day we met

to my heart was a healer

but it was hard to set

If you really wanted that then

why didn't you said

I said it was wrong

the way you led

But I think you had it all in mind

and you didn't wanted us to bind

Every heart has a pain

mine's just drowning in rain

Every heart has a pain

and now it's cracking my brain

Every heart has a pain

you left in the 11 o'clock train

Every heart has a pain

mine also has this strain

Every heart has a pain

was it necessary to die in vain

was it necessary to die in vain

Hi Ludo

was it necessary to die in vain

As this line is the crux of the opus, it should be clearer I think.

It does not make sense as a double statement, not even in an abstract way.

'In vain' means 'for nothing', so anything in vain can never be necessary. Even as a rhetorical question it's muddled.

'Was it necessary to die' would be stronger.

Also, line two has a mistake.

Can I suggest a re-write?

regards

Rudi

First of all I like it but I do have a question, are the misspellings intentional? If not a re-write would do wonders for this piece I think.

why didn't you said

I said it was wrong

fav line especially because of the misspelling, maybe it's the taboo here that grabs me a little.
