An assault, he calls it

a stab at the ears

sweet and salty

notes, he's named them

found on slippery

Telecaster fretboard

Sound pours out

amplified by Fender

sharpened by Yamaha

executed by fingers

with callused tips

that hammer and pull

As he roams around

the Clapton Box

bends and slides

scales in pentatonic

minors and majors

The blues, he's got 'em.

This is part of a project I'm working on for class. I'm writing poems about different genres of music! It's kind of neat.

An "oaky" fretboard? Did you mean "okay," or "oaky" as in, made from oak? If the latter, no way on a Tele!

I could have sworn it was oak! But I double checked and it's maple, which, now that I think about it, makes much more sense. Thanks for catching that!
