Truth has no desire 

Unlike the lie

It makes no pretense 

No production 

No promise

 

Truth does not shine

Needs no attendant

No service

No curtesies 

No fealty 

 

Truth has no intention 

It does not scorn

Nor insult 

It does not waver

Or stoop

 

Truth is eternal

Profound or mundane 

Small or large 

Embraced or feared

It adores no idol

 

Truth needs no veil 

Offers no salvation 

Serves no master

Wishes no harm

Has no equal

 

Truth neither petitions for

Nor grants forgiveness 

 

Character without truth 

has no value

Values without truth 

Have no moral basis

Morality without truth 

Is madness 

 

Therefore, truth cannot serve immoral men further than by facilitating their destruction.
