upside down ,narrow or wide

gonna make it through

drunken nights and party lights

violent rambles and urban vandals

never believed in a easy buck

stumble around in the dark

searching for that missing spark

but the wax has melted on the candle

and i ain't so sure

this is something i can handle

prob did al..tho technicaly its not a lyric but a poem and at the time there was no thread for poetry

now there is and its new so i just wanna help it alonge 40 threads and 235 replies..not bad for a newbie ;D

In answer to your original question, no, the title isn't too long. See my recent post which has a song with a similar title. I once wrote a song called 'I Can't Be Your Bread and Butter If I'm Not Your Cup of Tea' so I'm all for long titles if they say something (my song was rubbish though!)

Which is what I said on 19 April in the original thread. What do I think of the poem? I like it, there's some nice imagery but, having been there recently with 'The Game's Not Worth The Candle', 'candle' is a very difficult word to rhyme credibly - but you pull it off well!

It reads beautifully, not entirely sure what most of it means, but a `passage of time' is my guess. Great blend of ideas & images.
