  1. yea that saying that the most personal is the most universal definitely applies to the best love songs. I always like to write love songs that are directed at someone.
  2. just wondering. I've been doing it on my blog and was thinking we can post up some top pop songs and talk about them.
  3. Great article ! I definitely agree in that having a creative process is very beneficial and efficient. We're built for routine and I think creativity is more consistent with routines. Especially on those days when you don't feel like doing anything, having a process will definitely help you power to it.
  4. haha damn you will be famous, you gotta believe ! Garageband is ok to learn on but if you can try and upgrade to Logic Express or higher. The es2 synth and the sampler alone makes it worthwhile.
  5. I agree with chased's answers above, I think the most important thing verses can do is relate to the title and the chorus is more how you're feeling.
  6. Writing songs has definitely helped me alot too. I think it's the focus and the release that writing can give ya. Like being centered on an action, like the flow Mihaly Czikszentmihalyi was talking about. Have you ever looked into the benefits of singing??
  7. Your voice is REALLY GOOD man, but I don't think the beat fits in any of the radio genres. Im trying to think of who your voice reminds me of though. But yea, make stronger hooks. You've got a really strong voice so that's a big plus.
  8. I agree with Nick Thompson. Definitely metronome and practice, practice, practice.
  9. What's really been helping me is write some lyrics down. When I come upon a phrase that really resonates, I put on a metronome and just start singing. Then I build around the melody I have.
