The advice given so far, is very helpful however, because of what I feel to be my still limited knowledge I still am in the process of desifiring all of the info. given so far. OK!!! Can I get someone that plays trumpet and works with cubase for some knowledgable solutions on how to get the rich and mellow sound of this instrument recorded. Midi ingeneers please abstain I need someone that records live Audio especially brass instruments..... I am presently working with vst32, a behringer mic B-1 and a Delta audio buddy mic preamp direct box. Regards Pop'S

Hi again, what is for you a (dedicated BRASS mike??) names of models please. The only other mike that I have is a Roland dr-20 mainly for voice but the suck sound is still the same. I have ajusted my gain on the preamp so that the red lighty does not clip. My sound card is a Delta 44. Best regards, POPS

am presently using an apex 161 bell mounted on my trumpet backed with an audio Buddy pre amp and phantom power.

Cubase VST32/5.1 Recording live brass (trumpet) music and would verymuch like to get the full rich and mellow sound of this instrument and not the naZial (with a Z) sound I'm presentry getting... EQ suggestions anyone????
