I started the Petition to get the issue raised that England does not have one. Please start writing and sign the petition to the Prime Minister. Otherwise you could get stuck with one of the Old Favourites, Jerusalem, Land of hope and Glory or Three Lions. The choice is yours, please follow the link below. Land of Hope and Glory Jerusalem Could be but all Petition asks for is the right of the English people to chose. In Australia when they did it Waltzing Matilda was in the referendum They chose the New composition Advance Australia Fair. Maybe someone on this forum could do the same. All we are asking for is our own national anthem like Scotland and Wales. The British anthem which we borrow would stay the same. Nothing to do with getting rid of the Monarchy

Have posted here as you are probably the people to write a new national anthem Time for England to have its Own National Anthem. One that is LOUD, SINGABLE and lets us put our hand on heart and be proud of being ENGLISH. If you think the same please follow the link and sign the Petition. http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/New-Nation/ I have asked for a New National Anthem only because we borrow the British one at the moment. Old favourites are not out of the question, the Referendum could sort that out.
