  1. First of all - apologies - i am new to the challenge group and mistakenly posted this on the critiques page rather than here. I've been offline for a few days. I prepared this given the ten day limit for challenge 31, I see 32 is up but I'll still post this anyway. The verses, in my mind, I sing ina Dylanesque rambling way.. Its not great, but it is my first attempt at writing a song to order and I did find it an interesting experience. I was a boy wanting to be a man, To enjoy the freedom that only men can. I tried to be powerful, I forgot to be kind, and so I dropped the key to life from my hand. Too blind to understand so I wasted my time Jim Morrison may be the Lizard King, he may be able to do anything. He saw his words as the key to unlock minds and now all I wanna do is sing sing sing. Because song gives me wings, and then comes high time. Lennon may be a man or he may be a dove, Woodstock might be all about the love love love. the hippies wanted all the world to be kind, and now all I wanna do is rise above. The push and the shove, and then comes my time. CHORUS There comes a time in your life, when you must take pause. To be remembered and respected, you gotta stand for a cause. Will you shelter the weak, or try to stop wars? Will you shut out the world, or will you open the doors? Look at JFK, the man knew where he stood. He saw things were bad, and thought he'd do good. He started balls rolling in his short time He wanted so much more, but he did what he could. For Man's brotherhoood and then came his time. CHORUS There comes a time in your life, when you ask "what is me?" "Who am I now? and "who do I wanna be?" Dig your feet in the sand, Make your stand to live free. The world will change for you, just wait and see. REPEAT CHORUS 1
