Hi , Jess . your post , or a link to your post , came up on my facebook , via a Songstuff add , i clicked on it because the collaboration site i switched to away from here , about 4 or 5 years ago has started to wane , most the musicians i collaborated with have left that site , so i was looking for another site when i saw the Songstuff one pop up ,
If you ever need lyrics , i would be happy to help . either something from my archives or a collaboration or come up with something new for a melody you already have .
Cheers Tez.

The light in the distance, felt like hope in the dark,
Promising existence, beautiful, but so far,
But is it a false hope , with an image so stark

I'm in , BUT ! ! ! are there any rules ? e.g. only one line per person per verse ?...or a free for all ?
i vote for = 1 line p/p . because i have done this before in another forum and i want to write 2 or 3 lines at a time which takes the song in a direction i am pointing it towards , not the group direction , if you know what i mean ?
have u got a working title yet ??????

That's an old word "Sprangle " ( Smokey Mountain Magic 1910 ) , i like it .
But who mows the lawn at dawn ? that wouldn't be a forced rhyme would it ? or is it a metaphor i don't understand .

COPYRIGHT TERMINATION:
HOW AUTHORS (AND THEIR HEIRS) CAN
RECAPTURE THEIR PRE-1978 COPYRIGHTS
By Attorney Lloyd J. Jassin
To protect authors of older works from having to “live” with a bad deal they entered into when they had little negotiating skill or leverage, the Copyright Act provides that at the end of 56 years, the author (or if the author is dead, his wife and children or grandchildren), can recapture the last 39 years of copyright. For example, a publishing contract signed in 1948 can be terminated in 2004, provided timely notice of termination is given. As long as the work is not a “work made for hire,” the right of termination cannot be waived -- even if there are contractual provisions to the contrary.
The Copyright Act also gives families of deceased authors another opportunity to extract value from copyrighted works. When the author of an older work dies during the initial 28-year term of copyright, that author’s family has the right to reclaim his or her renewal copyright -- a further term of 67 years of copyright protection. This added opportunity to get back ownership of copyrights exists even if the author assigned his or her renewal term (or devised it by will) to someone other than his or her family. The Devil is in the Details
The manner in which notice of termination is given is highly technical and beyond the scope of this article. For example, notice provided prematurely, or too late, can frustrate your efforts to recapture rights. Besides the author’s widow or widower, children and grandchildren, the Copyright Act also permits termination rights to be exercised by an author’s executor, administrator or personal administrator, provided there is no spouse, children or grandchildren. Also, in situations where there are multiple authors, or after the death of an author, more than one individual may hold the right to terminate. In addition, termination notices must be recorded with the Copyright Office prior to the date of termination.- 1

The most surprising one is 'Mush'. I had always assumed everybody knew this word.
Here are eight traditional Portsmouth words and sayings you are unlikely to hear at the other end of the M27.
1. Mush
Pronounced Moosh. An old Romany word meaning ‘my good friend’.
Rudi , in Australia " Mush " is slang for Mouth . pronounced the same way , Moosh .

You played a large part in the creation of this so I think it's a good contender.I love the concept of this and It makes me want to do something similar with my old photos. I think this would make a wonderful idea to refine musically a bit more. Did you do anything to attempt to help the song "make it"? I just wonder why you felt it had no value or didn't make it.
Thank You Starise ,
I don't think the song is "popular " as it didn't get many hits / views on Youtube , and I even sent it into an "Opportunity " on a site called Music Clout , they list opportunities to have your songs "picked up " by Music Libraries , and Music Supervisors , etc, , it didn't get chosen .

The title of this thread is The Music You Made That Never Made It
I am not sure if this is considered music that i made , if i did not sing on it ?
I wrote the lyrics , suggested a melody , found the vocalist i wanted , then put it all together on my laptop .
Made in March 2014 .

yep , but mine are in video format , to help convey my idea for the song , and I suppose I wanted to have more involvement in the making of the song , rather than just writing the lyric and having an idea for the melody , then finding someone to sing it , I felt uncomfortable calling it " my song " unless I contributed more parts to the end product ,
So if I can upload a music video , ?...yep .

Nobody has the right to listen to my Songs ........... I did , sorry ,
Oh yeah , sorry for highjacking this thread , but didn't seem like much was going on anyway ,

An alternative to a "demo house " which i think charge a lot of money , is Fiverr.com. you can find a decent singer on there , for $5 , the experienced ones charge more , but try the newbies , ask for samples , most have soundcloud demo's ,

Bernie Taupin, Elton John's lyricist, would like to have a word
in Songwriting
Posted
Hello Mark , thanks for posting this link , an interesting read , the only Elton John album i own is Jump Up , i have a few others on CD and Cassette , Mr Taupin calls it " subpar " i thought it was better than that with songs like Empty Garden , Blue Eyes , Spiteful Child ,
I did read a book Mr Taupin published a long time ago , i think it was called Poems or Song lyrics or something like that , i will keep an eye out for this book , and might just buy it , to read .
