  1. Hello, this is my first post here, but I'll try to make it quick and simple. I was thinking about arranging a song called "Town" by Nathan Grigg for a brass and woodwind band for the fun of it. The song was created in 2000 and was only available in MIDI form. In fact, the song is on every Windows computer, just go to this directory if you are curious: C:\Windows\Media The file exists to run tests on the MIDI system. From the file itself, it is only tagged with the title, author, and the copyright: "2000 Microsoft Corporation". I cannot find any more information about the piece. Not online, or anywhere. I've looked through databases to try and clarify that the song is really protected by copyright, but I haven't found anything anywhere. How should I go about arranging this without being in trouble? Does anyone have information on this? Is the copyright on the song or is it just on the tests that the file ran? It is very difficult to tell if it will be alright to mess with this or not. Thanks for any suggestions on what to do.
