  3. PP, I can't find the original of Rendevous that you requested. Sorry to be so long in getting back to you. Can you work on the latest iteration I sent you?

    1. Pahchisme Plaid

I did shoot you a couple of emails.  Did you get them?

      Hey, David

I couldn't figure out how to get back the window were were chatting in and my short-term memory is awful.  I forgot what your profile pic was and ended up messaging another David Ritchie.  Could you tell me again what to look for?

Hi, PP. i have cousins all over Scotland, Ireland and some in Wales with my same name. It's a pic of me holding my guitar at a recent performance.  My timeline pic is a fallen angel. See if this gets you there. https://www.facebook.com/CelticGuitar

Can you give me yours again?

  4. Well said. I quite understand. Having been a poet for nearly half a century, I am comfortable with words and feel them deeply. However; I struggle with expressing myself with my guitar. While I love to play, and perform in my band, it's just not my paradigm.
  5. Interesting comments. it seems to me that many of you hear the music in your head, and live in that milieu. I live in words in my head. I don't need the music to be the impetus, but it does finish the 'sculpture' for me. I must be a rank amateur, Gravity, as inspiration is a beautiful, colorful, rewarding, encouraging, revelatory, arousing, and illuminating thing for me. But not everyone can have your genius. Tom, thank you for your thoughts. I do mean LYRICS, not SONGS. I learn from your thoughts and comments, thank you all.
  6. What is it that makes you actually sit down to write lyrics? For me, I've learned there are a few things which seem to change my brain waves. Or at least cause me to feel different, an altered state. First is music. I've come across songs that simply induce a need to express myself. This Doors are one. Listening to The End does it. Similar psychedelic music seems to have that same power. But not just that genre. Also, art can do this. As simple as this may sound, I do a google image search of strange art, or something equally odd, and bring up pieces that stir my brain. The effect is amazing. Do you have something like this? David
  7. Lyrics for collaboration:

    No Regrets                David Ritchie

I've got no worries no regrets

I loved you like the world would end

guess I've covered all my bets

    I'm living like a king

Lord have mercy on the one

the one who broke my heart

    thought I saw you yesterday

hoped to see you again today

    I came I saw
    I felt it all

Now's the time that we agreed

    No repentance needed

What might have been will be no more
    I couldn't change a thing

    No regrets just lessons learned

    my love was unreturned

I see you at the foot of the stairs

when I dream of missing you

I'd like for love to take us away

    make the morning new

    I came I saw
    I felt it all

Now's the time that we agreed

No repentance needed     repeat chorus and fade

I have several other sets to offer if my style works for you.
