    Hey

thought this might be an interesting exercise:

    1. Do you sing, play an instrument or instruments?

    What instruments? Piano, guitar.

When did you start playing? 1962.

Did you teach yourself? I taught myself guitar with a little help from my Dad & brother.

    2. Are you in a band or bands? Yes, I play keyboards for a band .

What is the name of the band? Bailout. As a solo artist I go by the name of Gorzart.

What do you play? Keyboards in the band. Keys and guitar when performing solo.

What other instruments are in the band? Guitar, bass, drums.

Do you have a band website? No but I have a channel on Youtube with  me performing solo cover songs as well as originals. The band Bailout has a CD of all originals recorded before I joined them.

    3. Do you write songs? Yes.

Do you write lyrics, music or both? Both.

Do you have a writing partner? No.

    4. Do you record your music? Not professionally yet. I make videos of myself playing live and upload them to Youtube. I do have some professional recording equipment but it's new computer driven equipment that I'm not familiar with yet.

Do you use a home studio? If so what gear do you use? Yes. My keyboards are Korg Triton 88, X3, X5. My guitars are Gibson LP, Fender Strat, Ibanez elec acoustic, Jasmine by Takamine elec acoustic. Fender Jazz Bass, drums by Tama, 4 acoustic pianos, 16 track Behringer mixing console, Crown PA amp, Peavy Black Widow speaker cabs, Shure mics. The computer driven recording equipment is by Focusrite.

Do you use a recording studio? I have in the past but not currently.

Do you have music available on the web? if so where? Youtube. My channel is Gorzart. Lots of Beatles, Elton John & other's covers. Six originals entitled "Spirit Man Spring 2021", "Mall March" original (instrumental I wrote for orchestra), Strut Break original (this is an intrumental piece named after the voicing I selected on the Triton 88 on play it on, intending to rename it upon further development), Big Band Tribute original, Boy Toy Gorehouse ( my sons and I just jamming on an instrumental original with a drum machine Zoom RythmnTrak RT 123), Acoustic blues jam in E (Just me jamming on another instrumental with the same Zoom drum machine).www.youtube.com/user/GorZart/videos

    5. What other roles do you perform in the music business?

    None.

Management? Label owner? Publishing? Promotion? Other?

    6. Are you a tech head? Old tech. When I recorded in a studio ,it was reel to reel. Presently trying to learn QBase but I've got a LOT to learn.

    7. What country do you live in? The USA.

    8. What are your ambitions? I always wanted to play & record (successfully) but in order to maintain a family I put music on the back burner. Continued to write and perform part time for the next 40 years. My wife passed away in 2020 and I hit 65 so I retired and devoted myself to MUSIC  24/7. hope to sell my music and myself to the world.

    9. Do you draw/paint/write stories/computer art/dance or other creative pursuit? No but my identical twin sons are wonderful musicians as well as artists. They are big on Godzilla, cartoons, etc. I've considered writing a book about growing up & living on the North Carolina coast near Myrtle Beach in the 1960s-1970s. Maybe I will.

    What are your pastimes? MUSIC.

    10. What would you like to get out of Songstuff? I'm hoping to hook up with the RIGHT publisher, promoter, etc,etc , find the right young , HOT star that can make some of my songs hits and bring my music to the world as I have always believed  I would make some hit recordings. I've got to get it done.

I think that covers the main musical things!

  2. Thank you. I'm really not sure what I need exactly. Probably a lot. I know I want to be better on my instruments and a better singer. Right now I need more time to get some recording takes on some of my songs. I'm covered up taking care of a sick wife and on the edge of retirement. I just turned 62. My sons help me a lot so I'll be submitting some songs SOON! Believe me, I've got a good deal of material to submit. It is my main priority to get started SELLING songs(other than helping my wife heal). Cheers!
