Cheers John.
I was messing about with this again last night, and its very easy to use.
I already had a small drum sequence created, and put the midi through the SR 202 VST. I then sampled the drums from the intro to 'Scentless Apprentice' on Nirvanas 'In Utero' (If you don't know the song, the first 4 bars are purely drums), and split in into separate drum hit samples in Soundforge.
Its then very easy to assign each sample to a key using the SR 202. Once the samples are loaded, you can mess about with attack, velocity, pitch, sustain etc to get the shound you want. You can also transpose which is quite neat. By the end on the editing, I had a cool little kit which I was able to save, and the sequence sounded great.
I might even get some pots and pans out, and record some hits, see what I can do with them.
Any tracks you know that has a coulpe of bars with just drums? Think I may also try Stevie Wonders 'Superstitious' as I love the sound of the kit on that track.
