  1. My name is Jez and I'm 51 years old. I've been playing the guitar since I was about 19. I had a couple of lessons but am mostly self-taught. Having spent years of working out other peoples songs, I found it more rewarding to come up with my own ideas. For a long time this was just snippets or ideas that I recorded. Recently I got myself a audio interface and set about learning how to use a DAW. I went with Pro tools as it came with the interface. Whilst recovering from an appendix op, I decided to put it through its paces and try to create a complete song. I've since written another song which is nearly complete. For this one I've also written some lyrics. And I have a couple of other ideas that I've recorded. This will be the first time I've put any of my own work online, so it's a bit daunting. Only friends and family have heard this stuff so far. But I'm very interested to know what people think. Are they any good, or how could I improve them. I've heard that mixing can transform a track, but I don't really know where to start with that, so any help would be much appreciated. I'm really looking forward to hearing what people think of my songs and ideas.
