Great singing, LooknGlass! Im not familiar with this genre but for what it's worth, I think it sounds good and you should continue working on it. I didn't know you had such a deep voice, it's an amazing thing to hear!
Wishing you a great 2017!
Ken
Hi Ken. I'm glad I checked out my forum folder in my email and saw you posted. I appreciate your reply and compliment. It's because of my deep voice that I have a hard time finding a tune that fits it. Most of the finished tunes I come in contact with, are in a key that I can't reach or sing to, so finding one that 1st off, sounds good, and 2nd, is in the right key, and 3rd, that I can come up with lyrics for, makes a short list of songs for me to try to work out. Wishing a great 2017 for you as well man!!

This is something I started, but tucked away for awhile as I worked on the rest of the lyric. It got lost in the shuffle of my many projects and I'm now revisiting.
I could use thoughts on the vocal (does it suck, does my vocal melody work?) and I could use tips on how to make it better if you think it's worth the time. I'm not very confident when it comes to my vocals, but I'm not afraid of being told it doesn't work, when it doesn't work. I usually stick to gritty blues vocals, but am experimenting and practicing other vocal styles.

She is a Jezebel, a Delilah as well
she tempted me and I gave in to her
Her body's sculpted art, long hair; like silk and dark
but it's her gaze that held her allureI have succumbed to her emerald eyes
I have been undone, by her emerald eyes- 1

Here's mine....since some of us were talkin about divorce earlier, I went the opposite
Opposite blues...that should be a thing
Where I Belong
Her red lips, take my breath away
Her red lips, take my breath away
Want to taste her tender kisses
for forever and a day
Her blue eyes, flutter to my soul
Her blue eyes, flutter to my soul
She can have it if she wants it
right with the heart she stole
Her blonde hair, caresses my face
Her blonde hair, caresses my face
If there ever was a heaven
I know this would be the place
With her hand, a ring come along
With her hand, a ring come along
Tonight’s our honeymoon night
and it’s time to end this song
Oh she’s draggin me away
to where I belong

one thing about the blues, it sure makes you feel good sometimes. Twice is some cases, three times in others.

I don't suppose a lyric I already put up for critique is allowed?

I am waiting for my pre amp and mic to come in (Links below) and am just dabbling in laying down vocal tracks. Is there a cheap homemade noise baffle I can make that will kelp keep out background noise?

I'll throw this one in while I still can
Hypothetically
(Vs)
Let's say, this woman cheated on her man
Let's say, he didn't take it all that well.
Let's say, he had walked in on the act
Let's say, he beat the other man to hell
(Ch)
Was he justified;
hypothetically speaking?
Can you blame the guy;
he was caught off guard.
Trouble found him
that he wasn't seeking.
Would you understand;
hypothetically speaking?
(Vs)
What if, that beat up lover was a cop
What if, that was never known at the time
What if, this involved your best friend
What if, it were a problem of mine
(Ch)
Would you bail me out;
hypothetically speaking?
Would you sympathize;
get me out of there?
If I called you,
interrupted your sleeping
would you come get me;
hypothetically speaking?
(Bridge)
I know it's late, man I hate
to wake you up my friend,
but if I like your answer,
I'm callin a favor in
(Ch)
Could I count on you;
hypothetically speaking?
Remember that time
I was your alibi?
Don't get me wrong;
I aint been score keeping
but I'm in a bind
hypothetically speaking
Get the hell to the jail
hypothetically speaking

I just realized what the rules were for this challenge! I just posted one that would fit the criteria in the lyric section. Can I use that one still for this?

This is awesome too Mahesh!!...now I'm off to hear what The Reign of Kindo sounds like.

Thought some of you guitarists would enjoy this..
-
At first I thought 'oh good! A buskers guitar'.
Then I started to imagine...
Drunk nippers on the bus, in car parks, train, or gathered around the newsagents passing the guitar around.
The ideas ok. But the potential for abuse of privacy if what troubles me.
I think that could be a slight problem with privacy, but I would hope that people would have the courtesy to plug in the headphones when in a very public place...There will be some though...

I saw this and decided to post it to see what you guitarists thought

Windows 10 is the NSA and Microsofts dream come true. Although you can turn some things off, you still have to relinquish much much more private information than is needed. Read up on what they can collect with this version...I'll stick to Win 7.

Hi David, thanks for the listen man. Yes this is def heavily effected. I started this when I was just learning my new DAW, and was trying to find the "mood" of my vocal for the tune. It was a crude audition clip I used to get the idea across, and get the musician to let me use his music. As I listen now, I'm lucky he let me The new and the finished version will be much better (I hope) and sound less "canned". I hope to have the (entire) redone vocal completed in the next couple months, and would very much like your input. The music cannot be changed, as there will be no more takes or changes to it, so I may ask for help from some of you guys for honing it in EQ wise. Be back around the forum within a week or two, I've got home biz goin on. Thanks again David
