I'd be up for a challenge but...a hockey controversy? Surely there are topics a bit more universal. (though not to Canadian hockey fans, I suppose) Did the original challenge ever get off the ground? Where are the entries and results?

I've been looking at different sorts of poetic forms and found the concept of Concrete Poetry to be quite interesting. This one isn't great, but it's my first. (The board formatting doesn't really allow for some of the features I've given this) Mystery on Wall Street The stunning jaws of Heaven open Forty floors up All necks crane in synchrony Freeze for a rapturous second as a multitude of cash ripples flutters slides glides sails flaps flies through the Plaza God jumps plummets pounds onto the pavement without a witness

I like the idea of seeing a beautiful bird as being somehow "dressed by someone" but it also occurs to me that birds are perfectly happy to live out their entire lives dressed only in what nature provided for them. If you're the daring sort, I might consider taking this poem just a step further in an attempt to draw a stronger analogy between the bird, his appearance and....well....us. Just a thought.

I never know how to start these things. New here, obviously. Songstuff came highly recommended to me by a friend so I thought I'd check it out. I'm a lyricist, been writing for about 18 years (lyrics, that is). Can't say I'm good at it but I've certainly learned a few things over the years. Been trying to teach myself how to play guitar for a couple of years (2) and don't feel as if I'm much better at it now than I was a few weeks in. (I should practice more) Looking forward to checking out the site and forums, maybe post up a few lyrics for "review" (what a delicate word for it ) Jonie
