Nothing compares to a tube amp. In the sweet spot you can almost hear the electricity pulsing in the notes being played which makes the music more electrifying. I can't say enough about tubes. You can fake it if you want to but it just doesn't feel the same.

Sweeps. I've been working on and off with sweeps for about a year and I still don't have it. Guess my playing speed will never accelerate.

Boss GT-6 is my go to pedal. When I want something a little more analogue I use a Ernie Ball VP Jr. Volume, Ibanez Tube Screamer, MXR Phase 90 Script, and a Boss DD-6 Digital Delay. The stomp boxes have more color and texture. But the GT-6 so easy to set up and not as much tap dancing between songs.

Scales and arpeggios. I use you tube back tracks a lot for modes and application. I tend to get stuck in a rut so I'm looking for new ways to apply. If anyone has any ideas to make the major scale seem a little fresher, let me know.
