Home Studio Sound Proofing

Hey

Have you added any sound proofing to your home studio? Doors? Wall surface/construction? Floor?

There are still areas I need to give attention to, like the access to the studio is a major spill, and the floor needs some work, if only to sort some creaks! A floating floor is impractical and too expensive. Any suggestions?

The wall between my house and my neighbors was the big concern, so was living space, so we used inbuilt storage (to store our winter clothes) to reduce the spill to and from our neighbors. Simple, cheap and pretty effective.

Cheers

John

Hey

The old ones often are the best for the money, though plasterboard over the rockwool covered with hessian is a bit better. Even better do a double layer plaster board with a small air gap between. Thought you were going to say "egg boxes" at first lol

Cheers

Egg boxes on their own aren't dense enough, but they actually work pretty well if you stuff them with rockwool and tape them up... I use that at my place as a cheap and cost effective solution.

One of my mates is a chef, that's where I got access to the dozens of egg boxes... ;)
