I've not tried VST instruments, and experienced problems with DXi when I first got Sonar. What problem are you seeing?

its not so much a problem i just want to know how to insert them and use them to make a beat

Well.... how this applies to drumtracks, I'm not sure, BUT plugin instruments usually work like this: You ADD an AUDIO-TRACK and patch in the plugin as an "audio-effect". After that , go to the I/O page and set

the plugin to play the tracks You want, and that's it.... basically....

By The Way: Have You considered READING SONAR HELP-FILES?

All this s*** should be in there or in the plugins OWN help-file.... MAYBE.
