Ed Shaw's "operation Instant Country Star"

Greetings from Montana.

I use my unique improvising skill to create backing tracks based on classic country songs. Not brain surgery, really, just have to stay alert to the possibilities and go with it.

The tunes are original, and the sample tracks are Creative Commons, to start with. All yours to play with.

I am interested in finding up and coming country performers who have the ability to write, and, more important, the passion to put their own stamp on a classic track that has it's own simple melody, meaning, write their own stories to fit the tracks. When you are done, it is your original work.

Sound easy, or at least, intriguing? If it does, I am willing to consider a collaboration.

Right up front, I am looking for just the right match. This is no reflection on anyone or anyone's talent, including my own, but the person and the tracks must be a fit. Basically, that means classic country singer, probably not outlaw or country rock. Modern country OK if you have traditional background.

So, if you are interested in trying this, please reply, so I can get to hearing what you do. If I think it is unlikely , I'll say so right away. If I don't, I'll link you some material. All you need is a set of heaphones, a pad of paper, some kind of recorder. Your own guitar might help.

Naturally, I would like to find entry to mid level professional talent who could use this opportunity as

a time saver and career builder.. OK,,enuf said.

Thank you, Mahesh and Tom. I hope someone here can take advantage of the offer. Yes, I did find the collaborators section. Very good. I will repost to collaborators and work that area. Did you hear Nikita's stuff? That's just what I am doing, only in country style.

You know, it is kind of a challenge. Typically, composers and writers have been introverted, as opposed to performers, who are the opposite. Speaking generally, here.

I use Band in a Box, Garage Band and an assortment of audiovisual software, have an digital audio interface, a powerful laptop, and a small array of mics and mixers, most of which would be familiar items to many of the songwriters here. Seriously, how many performers have the time and inclination for all that? Performers are

projectors.

So, the challenge may be to somehow link those two fields. Maybe the answer is to work with a lyricist and produce 12 song sets. Then find the performer to fit.

Any suggestions welcome.
