Santa Fell Down The Chimney

Santa Fell Down The Chimney

Santa fell down the chimney and landed on his knees

I turned to my little sister and said “I've just heard Santa sneeze”

Let's take him down a tissue and wipe his big red nose”

I hope he's brought his toy sack 'cos I want one of those”

Pointing to a photograph of a beautiful racing bike

I hope he's brought a red one, 'cos that's the one I like”

Sneaking through the bedroom door, stepping o'er the cat

I heard another shattering boom and immediately said “What's that?”

My sister jumped and turned to me and held my hand so tight

We're always pretty nervous about noises in the night

I held her close, said “Don't be scared, hang on to my arm

I'm sure we'll find out what it was so there's no need for alarm

Step by step we went downstairs in the gloomy dark

Then I trod on doggy's tail and made him loudly bark

In the hallway by the window with faces lit by moon

I said “Hang on Nick, just a tick, we'll be there very soon”

Peering through the doorway crack at the giant man in red

I said “Come on Sis, give me a hand; I think he's almost dead”

Sis ran in and cupped his head and performed the Kiss of Life

Santa opened up his eyes, “Oh dear, I thought you were my wife”

I can't believe I'm sitting here, I should be delivering toys

I'm sorry for all the mess I've made and the unearthly noise

I need to get back up the flue and back on to the roof

Thinking back at what I did, I tripped on Rudolph's hoof

Help me out this sooty grate one leg at a time

We've only got a moment before that clock begins to chime”

We took his hands so very tight and gave an almighty tug

It really was quite difficult as I was slipping on the rug

But finally, we pulled him free with an audible sound

Now to feed my reindeer and continue with my round”

He gathered up his hat and coat and things from out his pocket

I need to go and check the sleigh as I hadn't time to lock it”

He shook my hand and hugged me tight, his cold nose on my cheek

If I don't get a move on I'll be working all this week”

Then he turned around, knelt in the grate and headed up the flue

And within less than thirty seconds, was completely out of view

I looked at Sis and said to her “Was this all a dream”

We both stared out the window and saw Santa's reindeer team

Only things just like this could happen to Sis and me

The night the big, round man in red fell down our chim-er-ney
