my uncle phoned and was telling me about a lot of changes in wales..

the road in the title is somewhere i used to live long ago...

RHONNDA ROAD

High up the valley’s ,low on esteem

The mist rises from a mountain stream

Lays a landscape born of a dream

Now they tell me it’s not so pretty

And that it’s looking like a dirty city

Such a sin, such a pity

Rhondda road, where time was slowed

My memories to you are owed

But you always did carry a heavy load
