Song Protection

Recommended Posts

I have read everything in John's excellent blog

http://johnmoxey.blo...r-songs-on.html

But still need to read & digest the links first where more detail is gone into.

How many people use all of these copyright methods? Would one or two be enough?

I dont intend to make any money out of my compositions. I just dont want anyone else ripping them off & claiming authorship.

Dave.

The the U.S. Copyright Office is one that I was thinking to be essential, though I could take the opportunity to include more songs (they would be quick recordings though) as the fee is the same I believe.

I have just registered at PPL for ISRC only (so far. I will add other 'right' later). I used PPL as John's blog identifies this as a UK option.

Thanks for advice Dave, also for links.

  • 3 weeks later...

I have hit a brick wall with PPL registration.

I have pre-registered (not completed) for

ISRC account

Performer account

Rights Holder account

Now I am being asked for bank details, sort code etc for payments.

I do not wish to make any money out of my music. Just to ensure my music is copyrighted. Have I wasted my time doing this? I cant complete the forms with out doing all this stuff?
