Here's a short poem I recently wrote.  I was considering adding music to it, but I think I like it better without.  It basically means to stand up for what's right, in essence.  I hope the concept isn't too vague; feel free to tell me if it is.  Any other critiques are also more than welcome!

Some shed their virtue, shed their leaves

Like maple trees in autumn

Bowing to the Winter King

As winter winds have taught them

But vigils without values mark

The bane of their existence

A notch upon their trembling trunks

To fell the faux resistance

Yet stronger are those longer lived

The evergreens at heart

Who never sleep 'neath winter's pall

Nor from their stance depart
