41 year old British guy beginning to look at lyrics (rather than music). Am only just starting out, looking for inspiration in terms of technique rather than topics - I believe they can only really come from personal experience

 

Main influences are

 

Country (Lady Antebellum, Taylor Swift, Keith Urban plus anything that sounds good) 

Alt Folk (The Lumineers, the Civil Wars)

 

but will listen to most genres...

 

I can just about play the piano and very slowly learning the guitar (like am on to my 4th lesson from a book...... like I said - very new to it)
