First thing I've ever written.

 

For so long I have felt this

There's no way to confess

My feelings for you

Would be anyone's guess

 

Stuck in this cave, a living nightmare of lies

Our friendship to me is true love in disguise

Drowning myself in my own thoughts of hell

The demons come out when I fail to tell

 

Losing you is a fear I can't face

Will I ever have you? There's no way to escape

These demons inside me that come out to play

When I confront my own heart, the light fades away.

 

This is not the man I aspire to be

Please grab hold of the light and show it to me

Guide me out of this cave and away from the lies

No longer would I feel the need to hide

 

I'd crack open my shell and shatter my doubts

We'd run off together and build our own house

On top of a hill looking down on the cave

Shining light through it's darkness and killing the haze
