Building A Humble Recording Studio.

Hello all I am in the process of building a very very humble recording studio to start writing. I have an 8x10 wood shed in my backyard that is unfinished on the inside. Currently it has a drum kit in it. I dont plan to have an entire band jamming inside but the drum kit gets really loud just on its own. Im looking for any ideas on helping quiet some of the noise. My neighbors have been known for calling cops on barking dogs and wind chimes. Ive thought about buying an electric drum kit but I just dont like how they sound. Any ideas?

Soundproofing a timber shed is difficult and not too effective.  My real suggestion is that you either go electric or find somewhere else to do the noisy stuff and use the shed for the quieter instrumental parts.

Electric would give more room, I just hate the plain musical tone and responsiveness you get from them.
