Fearless (The Poem)

FEARLESS (the poem)

We wait

stunned by the silence

while we let the pain collapse almost

like a balloon flat

or a breath formed by exaggeration

ready to escape outward

Who’s to say?

what is wrong or right

nothing lives beyond

but the lasting debris of

what’s come to pass, before or after

all that we already know or everything still yet to be

When the situation calls for us to be fearless

not be afraid, we react, ready to fix what is broken or move on

or if we hesitate, a brief reprise no longer,  the answer will become clear

It may be, a second thought

too late or too soon to tell

the quiet before the storm

or the end of days

separate or settle in

keeping watch with eyes closed, or a kiss that explains it all

Who’s to say?

what is wrong or right

nothing lives beyond

but the lasting debris of

what’s come to pass, before or after

all that we already know or everything still yet to be

The situation calls for us to be fearless

not be afraid, we react ready to fix what is broken or move on

or if we hesitate,  a brief reprise no longer, the answer will become clear
