Hello!

I live in the archipelago of Stockholm and have composed music since I was 12.
Right now - in my current developmental state- I'm into folkmusic (with influences from Chinese, Scandinavian and to a lesser extent Slavic traditional music).
I am also making pieces - semi-classical works of combined folk and baroque/classicist influences - prehaps suitable for film or television. Studying these historical tools in a low pace at the moment.
My goal is to develop my skills in composition over time - assemble tools from the theory of the baroque, renaissance and classical periods, to become a better composer.
I study the baroque period now, counterpoint, The "musical idiom" of Bach in particular, and to a lesser extent the fugue.

I don't play any instruments, only a little piano, but was a pretty average pianoplayer when I was 15. But composition for me is something else than being a musician. It is another level of abstraction than just finding a nice melody on a guitar or bagpipe, I write all my music down, and only play if I lack inspiration.
This gives me an entirely theoretical framework, that may or may not make it more easy to assemble the tools (e.g. counterpoint, or Shoenberg) from musical history, to further my development.
I will study classical/baroque composition (and exotic foreign types of forms, as well) until I have knowledge comparable to a classical music collage/university  graduate. I'm aiming for 5-10 years.
