The First:

 

The man's words hang in the air

I find myself trying to follow them

Where do you lead me?

Nowhere or everywhere, it matters not

I will find what they are looking for

 

What will I find in this hopeful search?

A tragedy or beauty, or nothing at all?

 

...

 

Hours pass and I discover a woman in red

Did she deserve this?

A bullet to the chest and doors locked forever

No....No one is owed this pain

 

This abstruse obsession over red confounds all

I have to drive it out

I can't fall into another enigma machine

I can't break my heart once again

 

...

 

I must walk this path once more

But what can I do?

I ran from all the others long ago

And I'm left with nothing for my pain

All I know is the darkness of earth

All I know is isolation and independence

 

Fate unknown, I walk this hateful night

Looking around to see desperate scenario's play out in a silent film

Men chasing hopeless beings of innocence

Houses falling apart decades too early

Children sold for bags of bliss

This town knocked on it's knees has fallen into the ground

 

This despair roots into my heart

I have to act

I must protect them

I must take life to save life

I must cleanse all
