For those of us who are not drummers, I'd love to get a drummer's perspective on this. Its a couple of years old now. I was considering it for recording use.

Thanks for taking a look see Tom.

 

I dont use a PC to record. I have tried in the past and failed. So software is not an option for me.

I use a SIAB. Specifically a Boss BR1600HD. Its has a good drum selection and I can program it ok. I have used recordings to get ideas for fills etc. I have also used some of your tutorials. Obviously I am not playing drums but using the ideas to construct patterns.

 

I realise thw BeatBuddy is not designed for recording and its unlikely to synch with the BR1600. It might do though, because both use MIDI (I am not MIDI educated). The BeatBuddy is more comprehensive than the BR1600 drum system though. It has more kits and will work with any time signature. That's why it interests me. 

 

Even if it didnt sych with my recorder, I could still use it independently of the clock in the recorder. That is my thinking (such as it is).

 

I also checked out an independent review by Rob Chapman who also has one and endorses it.

 

BTW I do have a collection of hand percussion instruments, and use those quite a bit; no drums though!
