BOSS GT-8

Recommended Posts

Boss / Rowland sent me another mag recently. They have brought out another GT (guitar) signal processor, the GT-8.

I still use the original GT-5 (so does Steve). This was superseded by the GT-6, which I was interested in because it had a nylon string patch, though I never tried it out.

They have bypassed a GT-7 model completely and opted for the GT-8 moniker.

(Why they didn’t start with a GT-1 and count upwards I don’t know, -probably some marketing nonsense)

It looks much like the other units, except that its black with white lettering, which is better for reading it in the dark apparently.

Anyway this is the blurb from Rowland:

Boss GT8 Guitar Multi-Effects Processor - 4 types to choose from! Double your power with BOSS’s new GT-8 floor-based mega processor. Loaded with twin COSM modeling engines, it brings unprecedented performance and tonal control to the stage and studio. The Dual COSM amp section provides two discrete amp channels; you can layer and manipulate each engine independently to create wildly expressive sounds. Thanks to the Solo Switch function, lead sounds can be immediately activated -- perfect for ripping through the mix. BOSS’s mega-popular GT-6 was a smash hit with guitarists, now the GT-8 is destined to become the go-to box for gigging and recording guitarists alike.

I'm gonna hold out for the GT-7
