I use this form for intimate music, as mentioned in the article sometimes a Chorus can make a song a little too dramatic for very intimate subjects or feelings. I see AABA as the classic tunesmith song form. You're locked in tight, filler will be very obvious.  Good if you wanna avoid too much gimmicky lyrical repetition. Be careful not to use it too often cos people love Chorus'.
