AI Music creation will not be far behind AI Image creation

Recommended Posts

This is an excellent appraisal of where we are now with the "AI" of everything creative ... including music.  The presenter provides good logic and examples regarding current AI trajectories.

Image services based around AIs have exploded this year alone.  It is the result of much research, clever programming, and computing evolutions but, most of all, the gathering and analysis of tens of millions of images and the resulting databases.  Just two years ago, the feeling was that quality image creation would only ever be the domain of humans.  Hmmm.  Some people (mainly in the music industry) feel that music will NEVER succumb.  But buckle up!  Time, money, algorithms, computer speeds/RAM/storage, global networks, all music digitised and available to hear/analyse.  Everything can be solved' eventually.  And all eventualities seems to be happening at an increasing pace.

Of course, this won't prevent us from doing something we enjoy, like writing and recording music, but tens of thousands of jobs will likely disappear once any Joe Blow can create good sounding music for free simply by typing what he wants and who it should sound like ... and also get multiple 're-writes' each time he presses ENTER.  It's only performers, and their human connection with an audience, that computers will not be able to replace.
