Welcome to Songstuff! I can’t believe I missed your introduction post! Nice to meet you.

 

Are you talking to me? If so, I have a few questions if it is okay? If not, which John are you trying to get a hold of?

 

Questions:

• Have you heard any of my music? (I assume you must have heard something)
• Do you have any examples of your lyrics I could look at?
• Do you have any current industry ties or relationships?
• Do you have specific publishers in mind?
• Do you have any target artists in mind?

Before I work with anyone i like to get too know them, to see how we get on. It’s also useful getting a handle on their skills.

 

If we are to work together, assuming we both like each other’s work, we’d need to put a standard 50:50 writer contract in place before we start any work together and share any expenses incurred during recording/mastering demos and pitching.

 

Getting all the formal stuff out the road asap is liberating, protects all concerned and lays some expectations for us both.
