Hey Gang

With the ongoing AI debate, as a sidebar, this is going on:

According to the New York Times, the FBI has taken an interest in the alleged scheme by a musician to be paid by a number of platforms for AI-generated music. The music is then uploaded as songs by non-existent bands to collect royalties, generated from streams by bots, from platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music.

Charges include 3 counts of wire fraud, wire fraud conspiracy, and money laundering conspiracy. If he gets convicted that is potentially 20 years.... for each charge!

Weird. Smart enough to write that software but dumb enough to not connect the digital trail between him and several crimes.

Thoughts?

Cheers

John
