Just like music itself, there are distinct and different types of music production. Who are the music producers that inspire you? If you don’t have one, perhaps look to the music producers whose music you listen to. This could be based on the artist and you just haven’t thought about who the music producers were. Chances are you do have favorites that you weren’t even aware of.

Quincy Jones has been one of my favorites since the 1980's. I would say he has had the greatest influence on my own writing. 

 

It seems artists like to work with more producers than in the past. I like the recent work of Dua Lipa, Jessie Ware and Ariana Grande. They all credit multiple producers and I have no idea who is responsible for the output of these artists.
