Hi Gang

Balancing Passion and Profit in Music Creation

As musicians, we often find ourselves walking a fine line between creating music for the pure love of it and navigating the realities of making a living from it. Some of us are lucky enough to do it full time, while others juggle music alongside other jobs or treat it as a beloved hobby. But where do you draw the line between artistic integrity and financial necessity?

In this thread, I want to explore the balance between making music as an art form and pursuing it as a career. What drives you as a musician? Is it the love for creating, or is it the need to turn your passion into income? How do you handle the pressures of making music that might "sell" versus staying true to your creative vision? Do you find that the industry pushes artists towards one side more than the other?

Feel free to share your own experiences, challenges, or stories about finding (or not finding) that balance. And take the poll to let us know where you're at in your music journey!

Cheers

John
