Hello from Southern Colorado

I'm Troy from Colorado.  I'm a failure at actual retirement and am still teaching 3 years after I pulled the plug.  But, I still like the kids and can endure the adults for a bit more.  I'm an avocational singer and guitar player and wrote a couple of gospel songs about 15 years ago.  I'm feeling a little more like writing again at the end of the day as a way to decompress from teaching 155 12 year olds and spending a few hours helping at basketball practice. 

 

I play and sing at local open mics a couple of times per month and have heard others call my style nice and folky and sort of bluegrassy.  I love folks like John Prine, Townes Van Zandt, Guy Clark, The Rolling Stones and old classic country from way back in the 50's and 60's.  

 

Just looking to soak up a bit of the collective knowledge from the group as I embark on this next part of the journey.
