dad’s secretary bird is in charge of the paper

from the publicity flyers that litter our lawns

to the sexual harassment consent forms

she’s signed several of these, and there’s one on her wall

but of late, and to date, she’s not harassed at all

she wears a tee shirt with twin fog lamps on

but her personal space remains un-illuminated

her headlights point to the ground

alas there is no ground support

she doesn’t purport to not knowing her way around

however, her rooms remain un-ruminated

i like her, though she scares me a bit

she has an easy way about her

a pleasing, teasing way within

I peek in, but remain without her

i only have one meat and two veg

and only witnessed the edge of her wedge

i want to taste, but not consume

nor inhale

I’m fretful that i might somehow fail

i don’t want to hurt, nor be hurt either

by a clout around the head from her fog lamps neither

would I? or would I not?

well I would, and would do well

so long as she doesn’t kiss and tell

i am so shallow I realise now

without a doubt

i just don’t want my mates finding out
