Mpd16 Controller With Cuebase Sl

i hope this is the right forum for this. anyways, i need help on using my mpd16 controller with cuebase sl. i run cuebase on my powerbook g4. i have used my faithful yamaha motif to make beats since i started, but i am trying to get into the world of the mpc. like i said in the description, i am an admitted novice with production using a computer. i'm currently going to school at the Art Institute of Washington for audio production, specifically for this reason. if anyone uses this set up or has experience with these tools, PLEASE hit me up and give a brotha some help. it would be greatly appreciated. i can be contacted at stoneage_rock@hotmail.com, or if you are on myspace, myspace.com/therealstoneage. i got a few unmixed beats on my page for your listening pleasure/ to see what i'm about on the production end. anyways, any help on this topic would be greatly appreciated.

peace and love,

Hey Chris

Sorry, not an MPC or Cubase user (I use Sonar). What version of cubase you are using?

As a midi pad controller it should be able to act as a virtual drumkit (triggering individual drum samples), or to playback loops of anykind. It should also be able to send midi control messages, for example to start/stop a sequencer. Obviously this is only a controller, so you would need either an external sound module/sampler, or a software based sampler/soft synth, though as midi controller and note messages can be a ssigned to many purposes it can be treated as a general midi controller (I don't mean a GM controller).

All this should be assignable within the mpd16.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

Cheers

John
