I found this on the Songstuff news stream. The drop in their artists roster is suprising:

Job cuts at EMI part of recording industry shakeup

LONDON -- Record company EMI -- home to Robbie Williams, Coldplay and Radiohead -- announced Friday that it is to cut 1,500 jobs, including 20 per cent of its artist roster. While these developments are not as dramatic as they first appear (EMI is closing its British manufacturing arm, accounting for 900 of the job losses, and the dropped artists will be in minority markets, such as Scandinavia) they are the latest in a series of cutbacks by major labels, with more to come.
