Wow. That's an intriguing idea... I don;t think it'll work myself, as the people who are still buying CDs are surely buying them because they like CDs, and a USB memory stick ain't a CD! Personally I ain't touchin' 'em! CDs all the way baby... So much fun to be had, making sure the CD is the 'right way up' (some bands make it difficult on purpose I'm sure!) and arranging them all alphabetically/chronologically... yes, I'm a little OCD about it, but that's why I love it :) When I buy a new CD that is by a band that comes before H it can take up to half an hour to integrate them! lol... I need a new life... :(

You would need to expand on 'Album Art' for me, Steve. Im not sure if you mean adding video, pictures, multi-media to existing CD technology. And since the medium can store massive quantities of data now, then yes, graphics artists with a tendency towards music would be ideal.

CD's aren't going anywhere. The global corporates wanted a shift to online storage; driving a requirement for mobile internet connectivity. But you will always be paying out of your arse for that too. CD's are far more cost effective for industry & consumer.

I meant the actual Album cover. Think Pink Floyd, Dark Side of the Moon. When I first bought that. It had a poster inside and the cover opened out etc. All that kind of disapeared with CDs. With the advent of these memory sticks, It will either disapear alltogether, or we'll end up with lots of extraneous packaging!

people need ownership of something, so a memory stick is a ... hmmm.... multipurpose freebee.
