caused a big stir i thought i'd post the origional version which i have not sent for publication as i thought it too raw and a knee jerk reaction hence the rewrite

I could not believe what I had seen

Barley a year after the 2nd millennium

The world again is visited by terrorism

Witnessed by the world of television

The mass genocide of the innocent

Thousands left in fear

As the bile of evil sheds no tear

The politics I don’t pretend to understand

Who is to blame?

The world will never be the same

Little things now pale in the shade

Old scores no longer need to be made

Everything we thought we knew

Has gone…gone away

In mourning suits one shade darker than grey
