when It all came down you wondered were it went

bags of money and plenty of energy now It’s all spent

expired and out of date

and It’s not coming back It’s too late

I’m down and dirty on the wrong side of thirty

with nothing left to sell, welcome to hell

around which bend did you take a wrong turn

after the event It’s easier to learn

when everyone left you out to burn

maybe the teacher got It right

every day really is a fight

now you’re starring into the light

and It ain’t so pretty to see, low down dirty and mean

scream and yell, welcome to hell

now you’re hung out to dry

and you don’t even remember why

bitter and twisted your deeds have been listed

every lie you ever told has It’s own soul

and now you’re down a dirty black hole

but we mean you no harm although It’s no wishing well

welcome to hell

hell is no myth It’s here on earth

It’s a living where everyday gets worse

everything’s wrong and It feels like a curse

saints and sinners and bell ringers

priest and thieves and jazz singers

everyone’s a looser there are no winners

so you think It’s rough where you fell

you ain’t seen nothing yet

Not the happiest poem in the world, but I like it. There's some nice lines in there.

Once again nice observation & relevant subject.

Could be a hit in 50 years when the oils gone. Assuming Hydrogen Power Cells dont come to the rescue.

The mix of `I' and `you' looks interchangable. Its something I do, but am trying to be aware of now. Is it the same with you Nigel? Good stuff anyway. The 1st verse speaks loudest to me.
