Hello, everyone. My name is Steven, and I am 19 years old. I currently reside in New Jersey. I am a self-taught musician, and the only musical instrument that I play is the piano. I first learned it almost five years ago. Aside from the piano, I also enjoy to write songs when I feel inspired, which is why I joined the forums. To me, writing a song is like writing poetry. I am able to express my true feelings about something or someone with a pen and a piece of paper. It is rather amazing, really. When it comes to listening to music, I am quite a big fan of the music of yesteryear. I enjoy to listen to different artists and bands from the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, and even 1980s. Some examples are The Temptations, the Beatles, Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, Bee Gees, Elton John, and Dr. Hook. Frankly, I am not too fond of today's music, and I seldom listen to what is played nowadays. I guess this is because how I was raised by my parents (my parents are what introduced me to the music that I listen to today). Aside from music in general, I am currently a student in college. My intention is to major in Art History when I transfer to a four-year college (after I receive my associate's degree in Liberal Arts at the community college I currently attend). Also, I enjoy to collect signals and vintage street signs. I enjoy to work with vintage electro-mechanical signal controllers of yesteryear as well. Odd interests, but I enjoy them. Well, that is all for now I suppose. Anyway, I expect to hear from other fellow members here soon, and I will definitely be as active as I can here on the forums. Take care now. Steven G.
