Ahapea

I am taking a college voice class, it's very basic, and I don't think it is going to help me a whole lot in my singing voice. I do think it's better than nothing though lol. My voice I think is average, but distictive. You can tell it's my voice, but it just doesn't have anything special about it. I think I suck at times because I pronounce my words weird like a lisp. I almost think I am tone deaf, but I listen to a few recordings of myself to know I'm not lol (sometimes I do sound off key though). And I don't sound well when I am singing faster than average tempo, at least right now, like I start messing up And I have poor rythm. Which makes me think the only music I can do well is folk music, since my voice has that semi-bland quality about it. ideas?
