  1. Hi John, thanks for sharing your music as you said you consider yourself an ok singer, How long have you been singing? have you ever considered lessons to improve ? i have to say i have heard much worse, my only worry is the lack of dynamics and some pitching issues, a good vocal coach would draw your attention to these points and help you improve i work on the basis that the "that will do" for vocal tracks is not enough to do your songs justice, i would be trying hard to get the best vocal performance i could even if that means getting a more experienced singer to do the vocals However i do believe there can be improvement i allways strive to improve other than that they are good songs
  2. Moving this thread on a little here are some more bits and pieces i have been working on

  5. TFunny old day today sunny but not very warm eh? Now on to the serious stuff how are we all ? Tues is our first gig since The Mint a while back and it's back to macsorley's in Glasgow and with us will be our mates from Fife The other side we are looking forward to this one, It's been a while we are still doing what needs done on the search for a perminent bassist and we have someone else comming to the studio on Monday for a try our fingers crossed the new tracks are comming on a treat and have been improved with slight adjustments and will only get better as we play them We have been short of a guitarist over the past week our mild mannered led axe playes sloped of to spain for a wee break lucky git!!!! However!......... being Mild mannered but rather vain he decided to go get himself a little browner before hopping over to spain, and went for a wee sunbed and did he not have a 15 min session well blow me down he was burnt to a crisp the big dafty so its true what some might say vanity kills or in Neils case burns your legs arms and other parts lol Last week i finished another painting that was inspired by a image taken bu Greig Stott from Dundee of the "Rowan Gorilla VII" in the sunrise You can check out Greigs work on his Facebook page as well ar the original shot Greig Stott Photography Sunday 3rd October we are off to Lochore to play along side our mates again The Other Side also on the bill are The fireside Aliens and storm in a D Cup, a 3 piece all female rock band should be a great day & Night The reception we receved the last time was fantastic and due to the high demand the gig has been moved to a larger venue in the Lochore Institute That will keep us busy for a few weeks so for now its bye bye Be Good Thomas x
  6. I have to agree on the tracks we (The Band) had a discusion on this today and our drummer pointed out a destinct lack of mic's with the drums and none to pick up the crowd anyhow its loads better now

  11. Nice one Lazz i do have a Micro br which has one built in condencer mic, but has an input maby a sterio mic also has facilitys for recording stereo tracks i may give this a go at practice today
  12. indeed a good point about cherry picking will investigate on how to acheave this and if anyone has ideas please do tell thanks again tom
  13. Thanks Tom It has served a purpose in the fact as you say it has enabled us to have a look at how our songs work live and an added bonus that our gutarist has heard himself doing the backing for he first time live and some stuff i had highlighted in practice sessions he now knows need work on where as before i think he thought we were just being picky also we may duplicate some of the recording to give away at some of the bigger gigs in order to get some fans we are hopeing this will bring back more to future gigs, as well as people letting others hear the tracks and also i believe it's good to give to promoters in order that they know how we sound live Thanks for the feedback
  14. Agreed i did expect it to be more ballanced but hay ho not so bad after all lol we shall carry on and a bassist will appear when the time is right
  15. Thanks Nick, well spoted on the bass thing indeed there is no bass as we are working without a bass player at the moment Just can't find a bass player who is willing to commit to what we are doing and yeh i was a little dissapointed although on reflection and a few more listens i don't feel like that now as this was our first live recording i think in my nievety i was expecting somthing more dynamic, as everything we have done so far has been multitracked i think i expected that sort of quality, it was recorded from the desk to a laptop with cubase/pro tools as far as i know apart from that it was good to do lets us hear how we sond live and we seem to be moving in the right direction Thanks again
  16. We recently had one of our live gigs recorded, i am interested to know how you all feel it sounds this is the first time we have had ia gig recorded and i am not really sure how i feel about it Strangetouch Live @ The Mint

  19. What an amazing piece of footage!!!! Most of us when we visit the cinema take for granted most of what is on the screen, It make you realise that there is more to this than meets the eye you could say we only see what we see!! when we leave after watching some epic movie we applaud the stars fo giving such a fine performance and the real heros are the guys who behind the scene make it what it is cheers for that roflcopter for sharing that, i now have a greater appreciation of visual effects
